The iPads can be shown in four different orientations: Standing, Overhead, and two leaning options.
STANDING
To show the iPad standing upright, simply click the ‘eye’ icon of the ‘Standing’ folder in the layers section. If you expand the folder by clicking the small down arrow there are three folders: Pencil, Landscape and Portrait.To toggle these on or off simply click the ‘eye’ icon.
If you expand these folders there is an option to toggle on/off the reflection effect.
In the ‘Portrait’ folder, there is a folder called ‘Leaning Pencil’.This shows the pencil leaning up against the iPad.This also has a reflection that can be toggled on/off.
OVERHEAD
To show the iPad from an overhead perspective, simply click the ‘eye’ icon of the ‘Overhead’ folder in the layers section. If you expand the folder by clicking the small down arrow there are three folders: Pencil, Landscape and Portrait.
If you expand these folders there are three shadow options. Two of these options are using Photoshops drop shadow effects. This is so that if the iPad or pencil is rotated the angle of the shadow will stay the same. Toggle the drop shadows by clicking the ‘eye icon.
1. The first drop shadow under ‘Effects’ is a floating shadow
2. The second drop shadow under ‘Effects’ is flat to ground drop shadow.
3. The third option is a layer called ‘Soft Directional Shadow’
LEANING
To show the iPad leaning against the wall, simply click the ‘eye’ icon of the ‘Leaning 1’ or ‘Leaning 2’ folders in the layers section.
Leaning 1 has less of angle and a softer shadow. Leaning 2 is more angled and has a stronger shadow.
If you expand the folder by clicking the small down arrow there are four folders: Pencil, Landscape, Portrait and Wall.To toggle these on/off simply click the ‘eye’ icon.
If you expand the Pencil, Landscape, Portrait folders there is an option to toggle on/off the reflection effect.
If you expand the Wall folder, you will see a number of options.
The first layer is an ‘Optional Noise Texture’. This adds noise which gives it a subtle vintage and realistic effect.This effect works best on darker colours.
To change the colour of the wall, double click the colour thumbnail of the ‘Wall Solid Colour’ layer.This brings up a colour dialog box. Select the colour here and click OK.
In addition to the solid colour, there is also a wall texture layer. Click the ‘eye’ icon to toggle this on/off. You can change the colour of the wall texture by double clicking the colour thumbnail of the ‘Optional Colour For Texture’ layer. This brings up a colour dialog box. Select the colour here and click OK.
PENCIL
The pencil can be positioned in 3 different positions: overhead, in front and leaning.
The overhead pencil is located in the ‘Overhead’ folder. This pencil has three shadow options. Two of these are using Photoshops Drop Shadow Effects. The first drop shadow is a raised floating shadow, the second is a flat to the ground shadow. The third shadow is called ‘Soft Directional Shadow’.They can all be toggled on/off by clicking the ‘eye’ icons.
The in front of pencil is available in the ‘Standing’,‘leaning 1’ and ‘Leaning 2’ folders. There is also an optional reflection layer for these.
The leaning pencil position is located in the ‘Portrait’ folder in ‘Standing’ folder. There is also an optional reflection layer for this.
REFLECTIONS
There are reflection options for the iPad and Pencil for all positions except ‘Overhead’. The reflections can easily be toggled on/off by expanding the position folder and then expanding the folder that you want to change. There will be a layer called ‘Reflection’.
You can adjust the reflection to your specification by adjusting the opacity or fill sliders.
BACKGROUNDS
To change the background, simply expand the ‘Backgrounds’ group and toggle on/off the desired background.There is also a ‘Colour’ background which can be made any colour by double clicking the layer thumbnail and choosing a colour.Toggling on/off different texture layers and adjusting the Opacity and Fill sliders can produce lots of different effects.You can also choose a different blending mode for the textures such a ‘Multiply’ or ‘Linear Burn’.This means that the texture will blend with whatever layer is underneath it. Get Creative!
The backgrounds that work best for the standing and leaning iPad positions are the simpler and less textured backgrounds like 4,5 and 6.
Backgrounds 1,2 and 3 are ideal for the overhead iPad position.
